"Dealing deeply with the motherly yet domineering aspects of an African (Ugandan) mother; the various colors portrayed on the inside of Victoria's dress represent her various attributes and complexities."
Set in the backdrop of Murchison falls, this painting portrays a mature woman (of Ugandan-Buganda blood).
As a picture of perfection, she holds her breath in the effort to be painted precisely, (as would models of the Renaissance).
The many colors on her dress represent her various attitudes, moods and complexities as a human being. The rocks and mountains represent power and stability.
